Singer / songwriter Daniel Childs calls the Florida Gulf Coast home, performing over 250 live shows per year at many of Florida’s great venues.  Childs is known nationally for his dynamic guitar playing and heart-felt singing. 

The debut album from Daniel Childs, “Escape”, was self-produced and released in 2021.  The album has become a favorite of many Florida locals, as well as listeners across the United States, Canada, and beyond.  The beauty of Florida’s Gulf Coast is heavily reflected in Daniel’s music, which is unmistakable in songs like “Siesta Key” and “Sanibel Day”, written about weekend beach getaways with his wife. “Siesta Key” recently won first place in the legendary Will McLean New Florida Song Contest for the year 2023. 

Originally from Tennessee, Childs spent several years making music in Nashville, where he played famous venues such as the Bluebird Cafe, the Listening Room Cafe, Puckett’s Grocery and the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center. He also made frequent appearances on programs such as the Third Coast Music radio show, performing his original songs. 

Shortly thereafter, Daniel spent a number of years touring the breadth of the United States in concert before making the move to Florida in 2014. Since that time, he has been a regular at many venues up and down the Sun Coast, and has become a highly respected solo performer in the Tampa Bay Area. Performing weekly for locals and tourists alike, Daniel’s melodious renditions of popular hit songs have become iconic. But even more iconic are his indigenous original songs, which are frequently requested by audience members. 

Since establishing himself in Florida, Childs has made multiple radio appearances on programs such as the Florida Folk Show, has been a featured guest on a number of music-related podcasts, and has been a featured performer at annual events such as the John’s Pass Seafood Festival and the Will McLean Music Festival. 

In addition to playing live throughout each week, Daniel is also currently in the studio producing a second album, which is expected to be released later this year.
